“Clothes that resonate with the echoes of memories and the future,” this is how Gurtwein defines itself.

Gurtwein is a fashion brand with a multicultural and futuristic perspective, founded by Teruhiro Hasegawa (of Japanese origin) and Wing Lai (of Chinese origin) in 2020, after both completed their studies at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London. They gained prominence in the fashion scene for their academic achievements, including awards like the LVMH Graduate Prize. After working with renowned brands such as Givenchy and Burberry in leadership roles in design, Hasegawa and Lai decided to establish Gurtwein, a brand that is an anagram of their names.

The brand is known for its haute couture techniques combined with the precision of Japanese design, featuring sophisticated cuts, high-quality materials, and careful details that make each piece an authentic work of art. Gurtwein's style fuses poetic shades and gothic power, highlighted with cyber-inspired hues. The pieces showcase sharp silhouettes that blend strength and elegance; this fusion reflects the diverse backgrounds of its designers, Jianying “Wing” Lai (Chinese) and Teruhiro Hasegawa (Japanese), perfectly merging Asian craftsmanship with the expertise gained in European haute couture houses, expressing a multicultural and visionary perspective.

The Womenwear collection — Spring/Summer 2025 features an innovative aesthetic that combines experimental design with classic, modern, and sporty influences (sportswear/activewear), evoking the feeling of a contemporary art gallery.

In this new collection, the brand embraces a palette of neutral and neon tones, such as fluorescent green, blended with black and metallic elements, creating a synergy of high technology and visual impact. Additionally, the mirrored masks (in black, blue, and pink) and the translucent fabrics used in the pieces contribute to an atmosphere of cyber, mystery, and sophistication. Another highlight is the structured silhouettes, where oversized designs meet geometric cuts and layers, evoking a utilitarian aesthetic with urban influences. The pieces also feature the use of synthetic and technological materials.

The brand stands out for its fusion of streetwear elements and haute couture tailoring, creating functional pieces with artistic appeal. Positioning itself as a cutting-edge and sustainable choice, it captivates and inspires a global audience seeking exclusivity in fashion with pieces that are true expressions of style and creativity.
